Revised Examination Policy 2023 for Combined Classes at IUB

Here i am sharing the updated examination policy for Fall 2023, Islamia University streamlines assessments for combined classes with a focus on objective-type finals and a significant shift in weightag.Accoeding to the notification, the new system and its impact on students and faculty, as we dissect the notification issued by the Directorate of Academics.Complete detail is given below;

REVISED EXAMINATION POLICY FOR GENERAL COURSES HAVING COMBINED GLASSES IUB

No:1534 /DOA22/12/2023:Continuing Notification No:1383DOA Dated 13.11.2023, the Examination Policy for general courses for the Fall Semester 2023 is revised as follows.

Revised Fall Semester 2023 Examination Policy for Combined Classes at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur

  1. Only the Final (End term) Examination will be conducted and given 80% weightage, i.e., Final: 80% and Sessional: 20%.
  2. The question paper for the Final (End term) Examination will be an objective type question paper for all except council-related programs.
  3. Teachers teaching these courses will hand over the Final Examination Questions Papers (No. of copies according to the strength of the students) in a sealed envelope to the Directorate of Academics 3 days before the examination.
  4. For the Council-related programs, the concerned teachers must provide two question papers, i.e., one for the Mid-term and one for the final term. Students will be given both question papers in their Final Term Examination to be solved separately per the council requirements. The percentage weight for the session, mid-term, and final term of such programs will remain the same as before, and council prescriptions.
  5. The final examination will be conducted after completing the other subjects’ final examination. The Directorate of Academics will issue the exam Schedule, and the Examination will take place in the Auditoriums according to schedule.
  6. Each department will send one invigilator along with answer sheets where required from their department when their examination is scheduled.
  7. After the examination, the subject teacher can collect the answer sheets from the Directorate of Academics for evaluation.
