Apple’s Foldable Phone Design Nearing Completion: A Sneak Peek

Apple's Foldable Phone Design Nearing Completion, Rumored Launch Delayed

Recent reports from supply chain sources suggest that Apple is in the final stages of designing its foldable phone. This progress indicates that key aspects of the device’s design are falling into place, hinting at a potential move towards mass production.

Despite this advancement, it appears unlikely that Apple’s foldable phone will hit the market in 2025. Earlier speculations had hinted at Apple’s plans to introduce two flip-style foldable devices, drawing comparisons to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series. These devices, however, are not expected to be part of the iPhone lineup; instead, they are likely to belong to a separate product category. Rumors suggest that due to their larger screens, foldable devices with 7-8-inch displays could be categorized under iPad rather than iPhone.

Apple’s cautious approach may involve conducting thorough market research before officially launching foldable devices, ensuring they align with consumer preferences and expectations.

In addition to foldable phones, Apple is also rumored to be exploring the development of a foldable screen MacBook, following the footsteps of manufacturers like Asus. Reports from Korean news outlets indicate that Apple is in talks with suppliers to introduce a MacBook featuring a foldable screen, which could inject new life into the currently stagnant display market.

While an official announcement regarding the foldable screen MacBook is expected in 2025, the actual release date is likely to be in 2026. The increased investments by Korean display manufacturers, such as Samsung Display and LG Display, in OLED panels for laptops reflect the growing potential of this emerging market. Both companies are collaborating closely on research and production plans for foldable OLED panels tailored for laptops, anticipating a surge in demand as the market evolves.
