The Punjab Education Department is set to implement special school timings in 2024 as the holy month of Ramadan approaches, aiming to accommodate religious observances during this important period. Both public and private schools in the area traditionally adjust their timetables for Ramadan. Last year, school timings were as follows:
Day | School Timing |
---|---|
Monday-Thursday | 7:30 am – 12:30 pm |
Friday | 7:30 am – 11:30 am |
In double-shift schools, morning sessions began at 7:00 am and 12:30 pm, ending at 12:15 pm and 4:30 pm, respectively. Recent updates reveal that Punjab’s school schedules have changed following the end of the extreme cold wave. Regular sessions for boys in Lahore and other Punjab cities are scheduled from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm until April, while classes for girls are scheduled from 8:15 am to 2:15 pm.
Boys’ schools are open from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm on Fridays, and girls’ schools are open from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. Although Ramadan is expected to begin in Pakistan on March 11 or 12, the Education Department has yet to decide on the school schedule for this time. During Ramadan, schools are often expected to open at 7:30 am, pending final approval from relevant authorities.
