A notification has been issued on 24th June 2022 in connection with Disband of Police Qaumi Razakars w.e.f. 01-07-2022 by The Government of the Punjab, Police Department. Further detail of said notification in same is as under;

It is communicated that as per the decision made in the meeting of the Police Executive Board held on 16-06-2022, services of PQRs have been discontinued w.e.f 01.07.2022. All District Heads of Police is directed to discontinue hiring and enlistment of PQRs forthwith, owing to security risks, and lack of proper training and professional capability.
PQRs being un-trained, civilian staff cannot be engaged in policing, given the present-day challenges. Therefore, PQRs will not be called for duty by police after 30th June, 2022.
Foregoing in view, no claims of TA to PQRs will be accepted during the next FY 2022-2023. However, the demand of funds to clear pending liabilities/ arrears of FY 2021-2022 will be made after meticulous calculation and justification duly signed by District Heads by 15th July, 2022.
