The Government of Punjab, Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department has issued the notification on 22nd December 2023 in connection with List of Primary Stoke Centres in Punjab 2024.
Primary Stoke Centres For Acute Ischemic Patients in Punjab 2024
Here i exciting to share a Good news for Punjab residents! According to the notification,the following institutions and hospitals are set to offer free TPA round the clock to acute ischemic patients. In this notification,it is also stated that this service is available if the patient reaches one of the mentioned centres within 4.5 hours of the onset of a stroke.
No. SO(PHP)9-20/2023:The Competent Authority has been pleased to notify the following institutions for establishment of Primary Stroke Centers (PSCs) under the initiative of Provincial Stroke Management Centre, SIMS, Lahore committed to provide round the clock services of intravenous IPA Thrombolysis for stroke patients:

These PSCs are mandated to ensure following ToRs:
- The establishment of a Stroke Bay in the Emergency Department (2 Beds) and at least 2 bedded Stroke Unit reserved for stroke patients within the Neurology/ relevant Department.
- Immediate and continuous access to intravenous tPA Thrombolysis, ensuring the rapid and efficient treatment of the patients under strict monitoring. The availability of clinical stroke Nurses to ensure 24-hour coverage in Collaboration with Neurology Faculty especially during Neurology Stroke Calls.
