The commencement of the new academic year in Sindh faces potential delays, as the printing of textbooks is yet to begin, according to a local media outlet. A meeting of the Sindh Education Department’s Steering Committee has been scheduled to address this issue, with indications pointing towards a potential approval to start the academic year in August.
Sources suggest that a conflict between the Publisher and the Education Department is responsible for the delay in textbook printing. The Education Department states that a minimum of four months is required for printing and delivering the necessary books.
In a recent development, an inquiry was launched into the selling of free textbooks intended for government school students to scrap dealers in Badin District. The Education Department seized the books after a video of this incident went viral.
