Punjab Schools to Reopen on January 10, 2024 : Winter Wave Forces Delayed School Resumption

In response to the ongoing winter wave sweeping across Punjab, the Chief Minister, Mohsan Naqvi, has announced a slight delay in the reopening of schools. The new start date for the academic session is set for January 10, 2024.

To ensure the safety and well-being of students during the cold weather, a temporary change in school timings has been implemented. From January 10th to January 22nd, schools across the Punjab region will start at 9:30 am. This adjustment aims to give students and staff some extra time to deal with the chilly mornings and allow for better travel conditions.

Parents and guardians are strongly advised to ensure that their children are adequately prepared for the cold weather. The plummeting temperatures demand that students wear warm clothing, including jackets, scarves, gloves, and appropriate footwear. Ensuring that students are properly bundled up will help prevent any health-related issues during their commute to school and while in the classroom.

Chief Minister Mohsan Naqvi emphasized the importance of prioritizing students’ safety and comfort during the winter season. He urged parents, teachers, and school authorities to work together to make sure students are well-prepared for the colder days ahead.

The decision to delay the school resumption and modify the timings has been made to safeguard the well-being of students and ensure their educational experience remains uninterrupted, even during adverse weather conditions.

Parents and students are encouraged to stay updated with any further announcements from the Punjab government regarding school operations. The health and safety of students remain a top priority, and these measures are in place to ensure that the winter season does not disrupt their education.
