Ramadan 2024 Set to Commence in Saudi Arabia on March 11

Ramadan is projected to begin in Saudi Arabia on March 11, 2024, according to predictions by astronomy expert Ibrahim Al Jarwan, who serves as the chairman of the board of the Emirates Astronomy Society. Al Jarwan’s calculations indicate a likelihood of Ramadan starting on the same date in Pakistan, either on March 11 or March 12.

Notably, Al Jarwan highlighted that the onset of winters in Saudi Arabia is expected on December 22, extending until March 20. This occurrence sets the stage for Ramadan to occur during the winter season for the first time in 26 years, with this unique phenomenon expected to continue until 2031.

During Ramadan, daily fasts in Saudi Arabia are estimated to last between 13 and 15 hours, offering a distinctive fasting experience. The initiation of Ramadan on March 11 also has implications for the celebration of Eid-ul Fitar, projected to take place around April 10 or 11. As the holy month approaches, believers eagerly anticipate the commencement of Ramadan, engaging in fasting, prayer, and reflection as part of their meaningful observance.
