In Punjab, the decision to extend winter holidays remains unresolved. The meeting held by the Department of School Education to discuss an extension of the winter break yielded no conclusion.
The decision on extending the holidays will be made by the government, as the Department of School Education is not in favor of an extension. Authorities state that educational institutions have already had numerous closures due to smog, with a final decision expected by Monday.
Meanwhile, considering the severity of the cold weather, parents have also demanded an extension of the holidays. Additionally, the Department of Literacy and Non-Formal Education has announced winter holidays for non-formal schools.
According to the issued notification, these holidays will begin on January 1st and continue until January 10th.
