Increased Job Quota
CM Punjab increased the job quota for women in the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) from 10% to 15%. This decision aims to enhance women’s representation in government jobs.
Day Care Centres and Hostels
Maryam Nawaz announced the allocation of Rs. 1 billion for the establishment of Day Care Centres at workplaces and the setup of hostels for working women. These initiatives aim to facilitate women in balancing work and family responsibilities.
Women’s Entrepreneurship
The Chief Minister unveiled plans for a women’s internship program and the provision of loans to women for starting online businesses, promoting entrepreneurship among women in Punjab.
Inheritance Rights
Maryam announced that the Board of Revenue will streamline the transfer of inheritance to daughters without charging any transfer fees, ensuring daughters receive their rightful share of inheritance.
Maternity Leave
A new law granting working women a three-day maternity leave was proposed, acknowledging the importance of supporting women during pregnancy and childbirth.
Facilities and Safety
The Chief Minister emphasized providing women with dedicated areas and schedules at gyms and stadiums, as well as separate prayer areas and washroom facilities in government institutions, to ensure their comfort and safety.
Women Safety App
Maryam Nawaz introduced the “Never Again” app, aimed at enhancing women’s safety across Punjab by providing them with instant access to emergency services and support.
