The district administration of Jamshoro has declared February 29 a public holiday to mark the commencement of the 772nd three-day annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
Scheduled to kick off on February 29, the Urs festivities will span three days, featuring a variety of activities. These include a literary conference, traditional Sindhi wrestling, or Malakhro, and soul-stirring recitals of Sufi music. These events aim to engage and entertain attendees, providing them with a culturally and spiritually enriching experience. Given the event’s significance, local authorities have implemented stringent security measures to ensure the safety of all participants and visitors throughout the Urs celebrations.
Moreover, the Jamshoro district administration has established facilitation camps to cater to the needs of devotees and offer essential facilities to shrine guests. Caretaker Sindh Minister for Law and Auqaf, Umer Soomro, recently visited the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, where he paid his respects by laying a floral wreath. Accompanying him was former Caretaker Sindh Minister, Iftekhar Ahmed Soomro, who also offered fateha and prayed for the development and prosperity of the country.
