Revised Rates of Daily Allowance 2023 Punjab, TA & Mileage (TA/DA)

The Government of Punjab’s Finance Department has issued a notification on October 17, 2023, addressing the Revision of Rates for Daily Allowance in 2023 Punjab, as well as Travelling and Mileage Allowance. These revised TA/DA rates in Punjab are set to take effect from July 1, 2023. Further detail is as under;

The Finance Department’s latest notification follows its previous communications, notably the letter bearing the number FD Sr. -1-9-/2010 dated January 1, 2013, and number FD-SR-1/ 8-2/2015 dated July 18, 2017. With the utmost authority, the department has taken a significant step to revise the existing daily allowance rates for government officers and other officials when they are on official duty within the country. Additionally, traveling and mileage allowances will also be affected by these revisions, which are scheduled to be enforced from the first of July 2023.

The revised Daily Allowance in Punjab is applicable solely for actual overnight stays at outstations when daily allowances are being claimed. When there is no overnight stay involved, the night stop is not considered. However, if an employee is absent from their headquarters for a duration exceeding 4 hours, they will be entitled to half of the daily allowance. It’s important to emphasize that the enhanced rates do not apply in cases where a fixed daily allowance for 20 days, 15 days, or any other stipulated duration is already being paid alongside the regular salary.
